Response to Proverbs 7-9

Oh Wisdom!

How dare I approach you as a bride?
My love – my philosophy –
is not even worth banning;
no rule against women
laying with women
“as with a woman”.

Wisdom!

Sometimes I hear you shouting
above the bustle of the streets
but I am not the son
to whom you are entrusted.

And yet, Wisdom –

when you open your home
it is to all who are simple
that we may be rebuked
and, like the wise, love our rebukers.
